We understand that it can be stressful seeing a specialist but as a patient, there are certain behaviours that we do ask you follow.  

We do ask you to arrive on time for your appointment.  In the event that it is your first appointment, please arrive 10-15 minutes early to complete any registration forms, etc.  Please ensure that you have a valid referral for the date of consultation.  

Australian Eye Specialists has a zero-tolerance policy for abusive and / or threatening behaviour against medical practitioners and staff.  this includes but is not limted to:

• Shouting
• Swearing
• Aggressive actions
• Making threats
• Inappropriate gestures
• Name calling
• Threatening physical abuse

Abusers will be required to leave the clinic immedicately and we will advise your referring practitioner that we no longer wish to continue with the doctor-patient relationship.  You will need to contact your referring practitioner to arrange a referral to another specialists.  

Refusal to leave will result in the police being called.
